Reliable equipment, especially far away from civilization can be salutary.
The most important aspects while taking the decision which to choose were:
weight, technology and reliability. We have chosen the equipment which will be
able to endure a lot and which will ensure success in our mission. The extreme
conditions extorted work out of new solutions and modification of old ones. The
majority of the equipment make tried-and-tested constructions and solutions.
>> Level A6 - KROSS
We will not use touring bicycles this time. We are equipped in much more
aggressive bikes, with thick tires and 26’’ wheels. Kross Level A6 is a nimble
and dynamic bike, which should succeed in tough and various conditions during
the tour.
>> Tent - MARABUT
We have chosen the balotoro ten due to its
versatility. It is suitable for bike trips as well as for mountaineering. It is
a perfect bike-touring tent. The next benefit is two entrances and two apses.
Thanks to the firm Marabut, our ten was equipped in snow-flaps which should
make the mountain outings easier, they will be also useful during storms, and
should protect against vipers and scorpions.
>> Drago Navigation Set - GPSMap 60CSx
GPSMap 60CSxx will help us in marking out the routes among endless deserts
and inaccessible summits. It is receiver prepared for hard conditions, which
can work both during bike trips and during mountaineering.
>> Trailer - EXTRAWHEEL
A special model of a trailer was designed for the expedition of ours –
pannier dedicated. The trailer can lighten the bike and due to the panniers we
will have an easy access to the equipment. The trailer is fit out with 26”
wheels (just like the bikes). It means the same length of the spokes, the same
inner tube and tire type as well as small roll resistance. Extrawheel Voyager
V2 weight is equal to 3,8kg (including the wheel) – what makes it the lightest
trail in the world. The load capacity is 30kg.
