Duszak Team

Marek and
Paweł Dusza, i.e. the “Duszak Team". They
not only have family ties in common, but also their love for the mountains,
photography and joint trekking and bicycle expeditions. They have been
travelling for many years now and have been gaining more and more experience.
They are organising ever more extreme expeditions, which, as they say, allow
them to live “better lives”. They always spend their leisure time actively:
they go skiing, visit caves, go mountaineering and organise rubber dinghy
sailing. They live in Tychy, in their
hometown located in the south part of the Silesian Voivodeship. Marek is a
graduate from the Silesian University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Paweł is
just beginning his university education. They have just come back from another
of their expeditions, which ended in success. Of course, they are inviting us
to go on a virtual trip around the Black Sea. Thanks to the fact that IT is
another one of their hobbies we can be kept up to date with their exploits on www.wyprawy.org.
They prepare for the expeditions together, planning everything in detail.
Sometimes they have different variants for their routes, but, as it happens in
travel, it’s fate that decides anyway. When asked about their next goal, they
responded that at the turn of 2007/2008 they would like to make an attempt at
riding their bikes, without outside support, through the longest and
highest-situated route of the world. On their way they’re planning to climb
Mount Aconcagua (6,962 metres
above sea level), the
highest peak of South America, and Aucanquilche (6,176 metres), the world’s
highest bicycle road up. I’m already crossing my fingers for them to succeed in
conquering America. (Magda Kubica)
